Nebraska Here We Come!

Roller Skating. Now when most people think of roller skating they automatically think roller derby. NO. Well, what my family and I do is something completely different than roller derby. It started when I wanted some roller blades when I was eight years old. In order for me to get the roller blades I needed to take roller skating lessons so I wouldn't brake my neck or ankle. We went to the rink for the first time and I saw the most graceful skaters ever, they were doing jumps and spins and tracing lines on the floor. Little did I know that I would be one of those skaters soon. After a failed attempt at roller blades, I tried some roller skates (4 wheels) and I loved it! Within the next year, I was doing competitions and wearing gorgeous dresses. But.. Then it started getting old and at the age of twelve I quit. Thankfully, my dad and sister picked up roller skating and still skate to this day.
An old picture of me at a skating competition, thank god the dresses have gotten much prettier and no one wears boot covers like that anymore!
Earlier this summer in June my dad and sister attended the South East Regionals in North Carolina. This was the qualifying meet for Nationals.

My sister got a special award for getting 2nd place in one of her events last year at Nationals!
Last year was our first Nationals we attended. Nationals is always suppose to be held in the "middle" of the United States but last year.. Nationals was Indiana. Indiana is one of the most boring states that could possibly exist. ALL THERE WAS WAS CORN FIELDS. FIELDS AND FIELDS OF CORN. So fun. These are some picture of our skating team last year at Nationals.

My sister and her friend Megan qualified for finals in an event!

Team out for dinner!
Honestly, after quitting skating I have never been looking forward to going to competitions or anything. Waking up at 4am in the morning isn't exactly what I call fun. But if you get to go to a different state even if it is boring and living in a hotel for a week, now that is fun! I hope Nebraska is just as fun and hopefully more exciting than Indiana but who knows! Wish everyone luck!

Nine Months Too Many

Last time I saw my best friend Abby was about nine months ago. Abby and a few of our other camp friends all went to Halloween Haunt and had a super fantastic sleepover.
Nine Months ago.. We were Freshmen and Sophomores, now we are Sophomores and Juniors.. Where did time go?

Through the nine months.. Lots of things have changed, I got taller, Lexa has started field hockey, Abby's blog is amazingly successful, and we have all matured but no matter what we are all there for each other. Through my lovely high school drama, I always knew I could turn to Anna, Abby, and Lexa for advice, support, anything really. And when that's when I knew these people were some of the best people I could possibly meet.
Abby and I on the way to the BEACH! <3
As I was nearing Alexandria, I could hardly contain my excitement! I would randomly start thinking about insiders or smiling. But at the same time I was nervous; Other times where I have caught up with old friends everything was different and I did not want that to happen. But I was worrying for absolutely nothing, Abby was her plain old Ab self and we had the best time.
My lovely makeup haul from the local CVS and Walgreens. I literally spent $70.00 on all of this. BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT.
We thought this was a joke so we saw it and immediately took a picture. Too bad it wasn't and joke and we got yelled at.
The next morning we woke up at 6am and headed to the bus to go to the beach! It was a long bus ride but time passed by, by taking lovely pictures.

After another tiring shopping trip at the boardwalk, we took the long hike to the nearest 7-11! Thank goodness it was Free Slurpee Day!
After a super fun time on the beach and boarwalk we got back on the bus and headed on home! After about two more Slurpee stops on the way back, we were ready for bed but then.. We decided to watch the best Hulu show ever. THE YARD. It is the most hilarious show ever with these little kids who act like adults. As my visit was coming to a close we took these photos while we were helping out at a VBS.
Our attempt at spelling YOLO..

"WE CANT BE FRIENDS"

Last picture! :(
Overall, the trip was amazing and I really hope I can visit again! In a short 20 DAYS we will see each other again!! (: It was great seeing my bestest friend again and I hope we can hang out after camp and hopefully it wont be NINE MONTHS! <3

Alexandria Bound in 3 Days 7 Hours

Off to Alexandria Tuesday! SO EXCITED. Going to visit my bestest friend, Abby!
Check Abby's blog out! http://fashionhauties.blogspot.com/
Two years ago.. Abby and I met each other at camp and became super close friends ever since. Since we never get to see each other.. We try to get together a few times every year. Last October, Sarah, Abby, Anna, Lexa, and I all went to Halloween Haunt, it was one of the best and funnest times ever.
From left to right, Me, Anna, Abby, Lexa, and Sarah. Edited by Abby.

They are my best out of town friends in the world. Everyone should attend camp at some point in their life because you could meet some of the greatest people you would never meet in your hometown or at school. Honestly, if we all went to school together we might not even be friends. But thank you camp for bringing these wonderful people into my life.

Tuesday.. I will finally get to see Abby after about 8 months. We will be going to the beach EARLY in the morning Wednesday and then returning late at night. Then we will SHOP TILL WE DROP, or at least till I have to go. Then about a month we will be reunited again at camp!
We like to hang out on ferris wheels.

When we oovoo, we have dance parties, play ninja, and give tours of our rooms to each other. (:

Melted Crayons

So my friend made this amazing melted crayon heart and this is what it turned out to look like.
She made it and it took her about.. 2 Days for her to complete it. After seeing many melted crayon pictures and my friend making one i decided to give it a try.

Materials you will need for this are Crayola crayons, hair dryer, glue, and a canvas. First you need to find a lot of crayons, use old crayons rather than brand new ones because the old crayons tend to look better even though they are old. Lay out your crayons and separate them by color (red, orange, yellow, etc.)
You will probably collect more of one color than another so once you have laid all your crayons out just get rid of a few here or there, you will not use all of them. This is about 110 crayons.

Once you have separated your crayons by color, start the long process of getting rid of the Crayola wrapper. You do not have to get rid of it, I just think it's prettier. Do whatever you like (:
It took me about.. 4 hours to peel these. Your fingers will hurt after wards. I suggest watching tv while doing this, I watched four episodes of my all time favorite show, Dance Moms.

Now lay your crayons out somewhere flat, in the shape you would like them to be in. You can do hearts, letters, circles, whatever you like.
When laying your crayons out, you will probably get rid of about 10-20 crayons. I used about 80-90 crayons because I didnt want it to be too big.
Once you have finished that you should use a canvas or heavy duty paper to glue your crayons on to. Then you will heat the crayons with a blow dryer. Once you are finished you will have a lovely piece of art work! Here are some examples:
This person decided to keep the wrapper on the crayon.
This person didnt use Crayola brand crayons, I would suggest using them because according to my friend, they melt the best.
Thank you!
